Renoir, Monet, Matisse, Picasso… They left all their traces. The south of France, and more particularly the Riviera, are known to have accomodated many painters who came to seek the inspiration there.

Various paths make it possible to leave on their steps… The south changed. Yes, but not completely! About thirty lecterns (display units) representing their favous paintings who remained there, were placed on their places predilection, on the initiative of the Regional Committee of Tourism.

And various paths make it possible today to discover the panoramas which inspired them.

objective is to give desire to the tourists for continuing their exploration, while leaving to the meeting the true painting works, lodged in the museums of the common neighbors.

At the present time, the area counts about thirty lecterns and from here with at the end of 2007, there should be an about sixty.

Cities downtown, painters as painters… Cagnes-sur-mer gathers ten lecterns of Renoir, Soutine, Deconchy, Cross, etc. But Cagnes-sur-mer is also known to have been the last residence of Renoir, the Field of Collettes, with the heart of a splendid olive grove.

Today, this house holds place of museum memory. To discover and see the Riviera on the traces of the painters.Â

The lecterns of Cagnes are for the majority in the top of the city, in the small narrow lanes. A good occasion to look at the splendid houses, of which some are particularly strange!
