Pancakes or the Candlemas

The word pancake is a splendid word which evokes the joy and the festival.

To make the receipt of the pancake batter.
Trimming:
3 orange the peel of a butter orange 20g 1 spoon with sugar 1 soup spoon with soup of Cointreau
Buckling:
1 dl of Cointreau

Receipt:
After having let put back the paste during 1 hour, make your pancakes as fine as possible.
Peel oranges with sharp, detach the sections with the knife. In the frying pan, dissolve butter incorporate the 2/3 of the orange sections and the peel orange. Powder with sugar, make jump highly and pour Cointreau to scent. Line pancakes already cooked from 2 to 3 orange sections, roll them, lay out to them in the going dish with the furnace, surrounded pancakes of the orange remainder. Put the dish on fire, sprinkle with Cointreau and flame then serve bright burning coal.

The origin of the pancake?
It goes up, at the 5e century. The Gelase pope wishing to reward enthusiasm and the tired pilgrims, come in procession in Rome, ordered to gather all the flour and the eggs which one could find. One made wafers for them… In fact the first pancakes were made with the Candlemas! All the occasions are good to carry out this easy, convivial dish and which makes it possible to show imagination according to anybody’s preferences whether sweetened or salted pancakes.

Finally it is what one believed! Because since July 7, 2007, our world has 7 new wonders. To be sure to receive me 7 out of 7 read the continuation! “And the wonders are…” With event symbolic system, date symbolic system.

It is on last 7 July (07/07/07) which were revealed the 7 new wonders of the world. The operation, initiated by the scenario writer and adventurous Bernard Weber, aimed at “bringing up to date” the list of the 7 wonders of the Antiquity whose near total disappeared today (only the Pyramids of Gizeh/Giza still exist).

The result of the votes of the Net surfers of the whole world was thus revealed on July 7 in Lisbon. And gaining them are… the Great Wall of China, the statue of Christ redeemer in Brazil, the city troglodyte of Petra in Jordan, the mausoleum of Taj Mahal in Agra in
India, Coliseum of Rome, the ruins incas of Machu Picchu in Peru and the old Maya city of Chichen Itza in Mexico.

Votes, Show or Trickery?Before even the imposing ceremony of proclamation of the results (with actors, singers, footballers…) the contest had made speak about him. By UNESCO first of all, which disunited event. The organization in load of the 851 sites classified with in the world inheritance of humanity stated to have a “other vision” of the protection of the inheritance, deploring the “very media” character of the operation of Mr. Weber.

In Egypt then, where certain newspapers speak about “conspiracy towards the country and its civilization”, affirming that “the pyramids of Gizeh remain actually the only wonder of the world”.

And finally in the rest of the world, where several voices rose to denounce a vote which holds more of chauvinism than of the direct democracy.

Appointment 08/08/08 Forts of their world success (more than 100 million voters), the organizers do not intend to stop there. Indeed, in spite of many negative reactions, a new election comes to be launched: 7 wonders of nature.

The nominated ones of this new contest will have to be natural sites or monuments in which the man intervened in no point. The list contains already some great names: the Large Canyon, the Lake Baïkal, Kilimandjaro, the Large Barrier of Coral… A your mice thus to vote for your preferred or to propose yours.

Result of the votes: August 8, 2008. This new competition for A-grade officials thus a year to make speak about him and attract participating and detractors. Choose your camp! “the true” club of the Seven the list of the 7 wonders of the world is referred in the book of the author alexandrine Philon de Byzance entitled “In connection with the Seven wonders of the world”.

One also allots this list to Antipater de Sidon, Hérodote, Diodore of Sicily, and Strabon.

The final list, called canonical list, describing the seven wonders of the world was adopted after the reign of Alexandre the Large one (IVe S avt JC) according to fourteen lists coming different authors.

The selected monuments were to meet standards of beauty, size and technical prowess. This list refers to the seven following wonders:

The Pyramid of Kheops, Hanging gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus, the Temple of Artemis, the Mausoleum of Halicarnasse, the Colossus of Rhodes and the Headlight of Alexandria
