Before going to Spain, I have asked all my friends about Spain. All I know about Spain is the Airport in Madrid for my several stop over out there.

A friend told me that, we should stop over Jonquera before the French border. Thousands of trucks there, tourists shoppers and bunches of people oh my ghost!

We have stopped here to buy some Spanish items. Oh my ghost even our automotive shop owner neighbor was there too. World is too small aha!

I could say that Spain is much cheaper than in France. The gasoline was about 1,18€ per liter compare to 1.49€ in France. Arghhhhh life ain’t so easy as that!

History:
The current territory of the Large-Mound/Grande Motte is an old part of the commune of Mauguio; with the time, this territory was used by the men because isolated from the villages neighbourhood by the pond of Gold.

As from the years 1960 and Mission Root, interdepartmental mission for the tourist installation of the littoral Languedoc-Roussillon, the Large-Mound/Grande Motte becomes a seaside resort created exihilo with building, marina, camp-site… The objective was to divert the tourists of the Spanish destinations of the time.

With the Large-Mound/Grande Motte, the architect Jean Balladur created buildings pointing out the pyramids pre-colombians. In 1966, a dredger digs the port and the pond of the West and draws materials necessary to the fill ensuring the bases of the future city.

In years 68, the first pyramids appear on the port (great bulwark…). Then in July 1975 is held the installation of the first stone of the Church St-Augustin.

Lastly, in October 1975, is held a referendum in order to choose the name of the inhabitants: they will be ” Large-Mottois”. Thus the 344 favorable voters decided some (130 having voted against).
