Atlantis The Palm Hotel in Dubai, a luxury 5 stars hotel!!

In 2008, as the world suffering about the economy crisis the other part of the planet in Dubai a cool and a new luxury Atlantis hotel and resort they’re building at the tip-top apex of the Palm Jumeirah has been inaugurated.

It’s insane. Incridible:-)

The article said the resort cost $1.5 billion … which seems a little steep. Well, I guess there are 1,539 rooms. That’s pretty big. And yeah, it’s also on a freakin’ artificial island. Land was probably a little pricey.

They also brought in 65,000 marine animals “from the Gulf and beyond” – meaning the whole dolphin trouble. I guess we never talked about that here – see last year these guys found some sketchball company in the South Pacific to go out and capture 28 wild dolphins and ship them to Dubai. Classy. It was all over the news here:

28 dolsphins on way to Palm hotel

Dubai dolphins not mistreated, firm says

How Are The Dubai Dolphins?

Anyway, the the resort goes on to say that they have a 17-hectare water park, which would be impressive if I knew what a “hectare” was. Of course I do:-)

I assume it’s big and expensive.

Although rooms are only $454 a night, which isn’t bad considering it took $1.5 billion to build. Let’s see, estimating 90% capacity of 1,539 rooms, all paying $454 a night, it’d only take six and a half years to make $1.5 billion!

Kerry faces the Atlantic Ocean and, typically for an Atlantic coastal region, features many peninsulas and inlets: principally the Dingle Peninsula, the Iveragh Peninsula, and the Beara Peninsula, shared with neighbouring County Cork. The county is bounded on the west by the Atlantic Ocean and on the north by the river Shannon.

The Ring of Kerry on the Iveragh Peninsula is a popular route for tourists and cyclists. The pedestrian version is the scenic Kerry Way which follows ancient paths generally higher than that adopted by the Ring of Kerry.

Kerry contains two of the three highest mountains in Ireland, Carrautoohil, is the part of the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks range and Mount Brandon, part of the Slieve Mish range.

Roses is located in the Spanish region of Catalonia on the Costa Brava. This is the biggest resort on the northern stretch of the Costa Brava, just 30 kilometres south of the French border.

Roses is steeped in history with origins going back to the 8th century BC when the first settlers arrived here from ancient Greece. The 1960s saw the arrival of international tourists who have since transformed this centuries old fishing port into a thoroughly modern and popular holiday destination.

We have toured the Natural Park of Roses, about 2 hours tour! I have enjoyed the sauvage nature and clear crystal water for the fun of scuba diving. The architectures weren’t as famous in Italy. I prefer the Italian construction.

The appartment renting was cheaper and a lot of French people at the neighborhood. I think I know why everyone is going there. Even our neighbor was a family from Nice. I was surprise that why there were in Roses because Nice is awesome too. I think, that is the definition of a holidays = Away from your daily living or your home.

It was built deeply hidden in the ground in order to conceal itself partly with the sights and the blows of the enemy. The turns of the angle, which is turns artillery, are largely ventilated by cylindrical wall chases around of which roll up the spiral staircases which carry out on the upper part. These sheaths, that too many people still take for oubliettes, were also used as acoustic communication.

Tourists kissing the Blarney Stone

The Blarney Stone is a stone set in the wall of the Blarney Castle tower in the Irish village of Blarney. The walls of the castle are 18 feet thick.

The stone is believed to be half of the Stone of Scone which originally belonged to Scotland. Scottish Kings were crowned over the stone, because it was believed to have special powers. One of the stories says that an old woman cast a spell on the stone to reward a king who had saved her from drowning. Kissing the stone while under the spell gave the king the ability to talk sweetly. He was able to talk anyone into doing things.

The stone was given to Cormac McCarthy by Robert the Bruce in 1314 in return for his support in a battle.
Queen Elizabeth I wanted the Irish chiefs to agree to hold their own lands under title from her.
Cormac Teige McCarthy, the Lord of Blarney, handled her every Royal wish with clever promises keeping loyalty to the Queen without “giving in”.

Elizabeth proclaimed that McCarthy was giving her “a lot of Blarney.” This is how the story began that if you kiss the blarney stone you will also be able to make clever promises.
