Venice revives its carnaval

The City of the doges takes an air of mystery during the festivities

Undoubtedly less exuberant but much more close to us, the Carnaval of
Venice, which is held this year of January 25 untill February 5.

The occasion of Rediscovering the City of the doges under a more festive aspect. The carnavalesque tradition, if it failed to disappear, remains deeply anchored in
Venice, where one disguised oneself as of Xe century.

Masked, the Venetian ones could then transgress the rules of the company… The end of the Venetian republic, in XVIIIe, failed to be right of this tradition, and it is only since years 1970 that the city started again this event.

The carnival of Venice found its last splendour and always attracts a number crescent of tourists. To admire the most beautiful costumes, composed of a white mask for the men “bauta” and of an oval black velvet mask for the women “moretta”, like of the “Tabarro”, a long black cape, to prefer a stay at the time of the opening or the carnival closure. And for the in love ones, better is worth to choose one period calmer (and less cold) for one strolls romantic in gondole…
